Assault Reported Near Lincoln Park

A man assaulted someone and tried to rob them just north of Lincoln Park on Sunday evening, police say.

The victim reported being attacked on the 100 block of 12th Street NE at about 8 p.m., according to police.

The suspect is a black man age 25 to 30 who stands about 6-foot-3, police said. He was wearing a tan coat with a fur hood at the time of the crime.

Police did not immediately respond to an inquiry about the incident.

Another attack was reported early Sunday morning a few blocks east. A victim told police they were violently robbed in an alley on the 1324-1387 block of N. Carolina Avenue NE. That incident occurred just after midnight Sunday, police said.
