Robbery Near Union Station Sparks High-Speed Chase to Maryland
An accused robber led police on a 20-mile car chase last night (Thursday) after officers tried to stop him two blocks from Union Station, The Washington Post reported.
The driver of a black Jeep and three passengers were arrested in College Park and questioned in connection to several robberies in D.C.
The chase began after someone was robbed about 9:45 p.m. on the 300 block of E Street NE. Minutes later, officers spotted a Jeep on the 900 block of E Street NE that matched the description the robbery victim gave, the Post reported.
Officers tried to stop the Jeep, but its driver side-swiped a patrol car and sped off. Police from the District, U.S. Park Police and Prince George’s County Police gave chase and forced the vehicle to stop on Kenilworth Avenue near Radcliff Drive, the Post reported. Charges against the four men were pending.
Police declined to immediately speak about the incident.
