Women bike commuters will huddle tomorrow morning (Thursday) on H Street NE.

The Women & Bicycles Bagelicious Coffee Club will meet from 7:15 to 9:15 a.m. at Bullfrog Bagels, 1341 H St. NE. The club is a part of the Washington Area Bicyclist Association’s Women & Bicycles program, which encourages women to travel on two wheels.

“There’s enough evidence too few women in the D.C. area ride bikes,” WABA’s website says. “Instead of speculating further on what’s discouraging women from biking, we are inspiring more women to join the movement.”

The group regularly organizes skill-sharing workshops, bike rides and other events.

WABA is also hosting a coed Winter Wonder Ride today from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The ride will take place downtown, starting at 15th Street and New York Avenue NW, with tips on winter bike riding, followed by tacos and drinks. “WABA appreciates your $10 advance registration, but it’s also fine just to show up at no charge,” participant Andrea Adleman said.
