Southeast Freeway Crash Hospitalizes One Person

A rush hour crash on I-695 sent one person to the hospital, the D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department said.

The two-car crash occurred about 8:45 a.m. at 8th Street SE. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, a FEMS spokesman said.

What caused the accident was not immediately known.

Traffic on Southeast Freeway appeared to be moving steadily as of 10:15 a.m.
