House Catches Fire in Hill East

(Updated at 10:20 a.m.) A house fire on A Street SE this morning blanketed parts of Hill East in smoke.

D.C. Fire and EMS responded before 8:40 a.m. Monday to a house fire on the 1400 block of A Street SE. The fire was extinguished shortly before 9 a.m., fire department spokesman Tim Wilson said.

No one was injured, Wilson said. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
