Schools Are Open as Snow Is Expected Later Today
D.C. public schools and government offices are opening on time today, the administration announced early Wednesday morning. Federal workers have the option to work remotely or take unscheduled leave.
The forecast in the District calls for as much as 1 inch of snow later today, with a mix of rain and snow before 1 p.m., snow between 1 and 3 p.m., and more rain and snow after 3 p.m. Last night, the National Weather Service predicted up to 3 inches of snow in the District.
The midday precipitation could make roads and sidewalks slick this evening, so be careful.
