Summer Camp Registration Starts Soon

The District Department of Parks and Recreation starts running information sessions today for its wide range of summer day camps. Registration starts Feb. 23 for programs offered to youth age 3 to 19.

The sessions this summer include swim camp for kids age 6 to 13, career camp for youth age 14 to 19 and “Nothing But Net” basketball camp for kids age 8 to 13.

You can attend an information session across the river in Fort Stanton tonight, at 1800 Erie St. SE, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Another session will be held at 3100 Denver St. SE from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Most camps operate Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. DPR announced these session dates:

Session 1: June 22 – July 2, 2015
Session 2: July 6 – July 17, 2015
Session 3: July 20 – July 31, 2015
Session 4: August 3 – August 14, 2015

Registration costs $40 per child. Discounts of as much as 75 percent are available depending on income and family size.
