Traffic Snarled in NoMa Because of Work Zone
Update at 3:30 p.m. — The work had concluded by 3:20 p.m., police said.
Beware driving through NoMa for now.
Three lanes of traffic are closed this afternoon because of a work zone. Eastbound New York Avenue is narrowed at North Capitol Street and causing delays, according to police.
Users of the traffic app Waze reported heavy traffic on New York Avenue NE just east of North Capitol Street, and on North Capitol Street just south of New York Avenue.
The purpose of the work was not immediately known.
