Two People Arrested for Shooting in Southwest

Two people were arrested for the shooting midday Saturday two blocks west of Nationals Park.

Officers arrested two people who provided addresses in Southwest, First District Cmdr. Jeff Brown said this morning. The suspects, whose addresses are being verified, were arrested on the scene. The case is now closed, Brown said.

Gunshots rung out about 2:45 p.m. Saturday on the 1300 block of 1st Street SW, one block south of the First District police station.

The victim was shot in the foot, treated at a local hospital and released, according to Brown.

The suspects and the victim are believed to have argued before the shooting.

James Anderson, 27, was fatally shot inside a building on the same block on Jan. 11.
