(Updated at 5:25 p.m.) Temperatures will temporarily rise this weekend, but damaging winds could be headed to Washington.

The National Weather Service is warning that D.C. could have wind gusts up to 60 mph Saturday night through Sunday morning. A high wind watch is in effect for the entire region and could include power outages, NWS said.

Early this evening, Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a Cold Emergency that will be in effect through early Monday.

If you see a homeless person in need, call the shelter hotline at 1-800-535-7252.

It’s about 22 degrees today, but feels more like 8 degrees with the wind chill. The temperature is expected to climb on Valentine’s Day, with a high of 39 degrees and a 60 percent chance of snow. Rain and snow could fall between 1 and 3 p.m., the NWS said. Then, snow showers are likely.

Sunday is expected to be sunny, with a high near 18 degrees. The low on Sunday night is just 5 degrees. Then, Presidents Day has a forecast of partial clouds and a low of 17 degrees.

Bundle up!
