Up to 8 Inches of Snow Possible Monday
The Hill may get walloped with as much as 8 inches of snow today.
The forecast calls for more bitter cold, with a wind chill factor as low as minus 5 during the day and snow after 3 p.m. Monday, with 4 to 8 inches possible.
A winter storm warning is in effect from 6 p.m. Monday through 12 p.m. Tuesday. The National Weather Service advises avoiding the roads if you can, and bundling up to avoid hypothermia and frost bite.
Dozens of homes near 17th and D streets NE were without power late Sunday. Seventy-six Pepco customers had no power as of 12 a.m. Monday, according to the utility company’s outage map. An underground equipment failure caused the disruption, the Pepco website said. Service was expected to be restored by 1 a.m.
