Weekend Crime: Two Robberies by Masked Men in Near Northeast

Police carSeveral robberies were reported in the First District this weekend, including two in which thieves wore masks. Here’s what police shared initially. Stay tuned for updates.

Robbery by Masked Males at 4th and K Streets NE — A violent robbery was reported at 4th and K streets NE about 11 p.m. Saturday. Police was looking for “10 black males wearing black masks and dark clothing.” One suspect was riding a red bike, police said.

Armed Robbery by Masked Males at 12th and G Streets NE — Three black males were wanted Sunday night for a robbery committed about 3:25 a.m. Sunday. The robbers hit the 700 block of 12th Street NE, police said. They wore “half masks,” black hats and dark clothing. All three suspects stand 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-3.

Purse-Snatching on 13th Street NE — A woman walking on the 500 block of 13th Street NE, south of Maryland Avenue, had her purse stolen Saturday afternoon. A black teen about 16-years-old ran off with the bag about 2:50 p.m., the victim told police. The woman was not injured.

Stabbing on D Street NW — A stabbing occurred about 7:20 p.m. Saturday. The crime was reported on the 200 block of D Street NW, near the U.S. Tax Court building. A suspect was in custody, police said. Additional information was not immediately available.

Convenience Store Robbed at 7th and L Streets SE — The market at 7th and L streets SE was robbed Saturday night. A thief entered the store about 8:15 p.m., reached over the counter and took cash from the register, police said. Police found the suspect just a few blocks away and made an arrest.

Robbery at 9th and H Streets NE — A violent robbery occurred about 9:50 p.m. Sunday on the 900 block of H Street NE. Police were searching for a black man age 20 to 25 who wore a red jacket and dark jeans.
