Announced last night, a handful of Ward 6 restaurants are among the finalists for the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington’s annual RAMMY Awards.

Beuchert’s Saloon is among the finalists in the Everyday Casual Brunch category, and Granville Moore’s is in the running for the Beer Program of the Year award. Three local restaurants are competing for Everyday Casual Restaurant of the Year: Granville Moore’s, the Capitol Hill location of Hank’s Oyster Bar and the Capitol Hill location of Ted’s Bulletin.

The finalists were selected by the voting public and a committee of volunteer judges who are food service professionals, teachers and food writers.

The public will pick the winners in four categories: Favorite Gathering Place of the Year, Upscale Brunch, Everyday Casual Brunch and Favorite Fast Bites. Voting will open soon on the Washington City Paper website.

In recent food award news, the H Street NE restaurant Toki Underground is up for a national award, from the James Beard Foundation.

The RAMMY Award winners will be announced at a black tie gala June 7.
