Shooting Victim Drives Himself to D.C. General After Being Hit
A man with a gunshot wound drove himself to the homeless shelter at D.C. General after he was shot late last night, police said this afternoon.
The shooting didn’t occur on the campus of the Hill East facility. The man was shot in another part of the District. First District Cmdr. Jeff Brown said police don’t have an exact location for the shooting, however.
The man was taken to a hospital with injuries to his stomach and was listed in critical condition, Brown said. It wasn’t immediately known if the victim had been staying at the shelter.
No information on a suspect was available.
