H Street Farmers Market Reopens This Weekend
Local farmers will return to the H Street corridor this weekend to sell fruit, vegetables and other food.
The H Street FRESHFARM Market will come to H and 13th streets NE on Saturday, after a four-month hiatus. The market is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday through Dec. 19.
Farmers will bring “the best of their local, seasonal bounty, including handmade cows’ milk cheeses, yogurt, organic and grass-fed meats, fruits, vegetables, eggs, pastries, sorbets, ice creams, flowers and more,” according to FRESHFARM Markets, which runs the H Street farmers market and others in the District.
Past food offerings have included blueberries from Blueberry Hill in Clear Spring, Md., pork from Cedarbrook Farm in Kearneysville, W.Va., and honey from Richfield Farm in Manchester, Md.
The H Street farmers market began in 2004.
