Volunteers Needed for Eastern High School Career Day
Eastern High School is looking for locals to share stories about their jobs next week.
The school at 1700 East Capitol St. NE is hoping to have 100 people visit on April 30 to tell freshmen, sophomores and juniors about life after school, as part of its fourth annual career day. Eastern needs about 30 more people to sign up online to meet its goal, said Amanda Jarrard, Eastern’s chief of staff.
“It’s a really nice day to get members of the community into Eastern and see what we’re about,” she said.
Workers in business, government and other fields will be paired with two or three other professionals to discuss their jobs from 9:30 a.m. to noon on career day. Participants don’t need to prepare a formal presentation.
About 120 people took part in the career day last year.
