Howl To The Chief on Barracks Row is holding a dog wash fundraiser Saturday from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. For a $15 donation to Rural Dog Rescue, “friendly dirty” dogs will get a bath at the 733 8th St. SE pet store, a post on the shop’s Facebook page says.

Founded by Howl To The Chief owner Kim Hawkins, Rural Dog Rescue is a nonprofit organization that takes in dogs from rural shelters that have euthanasia rates of at least 80 percent.

Money raised at the dog wash will go toward treating injured or seriously ill dogs at Rural Dog Rescue.
