Persons of Interest in Hill East Safeway Assault Caught on Video
Two people wanted in connection to an attack at a Hill East grocery store earlier this year were filmed by the supermarket’s cameras. This week, D.C. police released a video on YouTube in hopes of gathering more information.
A felony assault happened at the Safeway at 415 14th St. SE on Feb. 25, police said.
Two hooded people entered the grocery store and walked through aisles for shaving cream, shampoo and other personal care products, the video distributed yesterday by police shows. One of the individuals appeared to grab some items and put them in a bag.
On Sunday, a security guard at the Safeway was injured after trying to stop a shoplifter from leaving, Hill Rag reported. The thief whacked the guard in the head with a bag holding bottles and fled.
It was unclear if the two attacks were connected.
