Capitol Hill is home to more cheating spouses per capita than any other neighborhood in the District, the dating website AshleyMadison.com announced today.
About 10 percent of Hill residents are registered on Ashley Madison, which married people use to find extramarital affairs, according to new data released by the website.
No other Ward 6 neighborhoods are among the 10 D.C. communities deemed “least faithful” by Ashley Madison. All of the areas on the list are in Northwest D.C., except the Hill, as the Washington Post first reported.
Ashley Madison’s Hill members are the most active on the website at work, the company noted.
“The proclivity to cheat often goes hand in hand with opportunity,” Ashley Madison founder and CEO Noel Biderman said in a statement. “Those with discretionary income and freedom to travel are even more likely to stray.”
More than 59,900 D.C. adulterers are signed up on Ashley Madison, according to the website. Overall, the District has more cheaters per capita than any other U.S. city.
