Women Attack Man With Bat Near H Street Wal-Mart

A pair of women, one of them armed with a bat, assaulted a man near the Wal-Mart on H Street NW yesterday afternoon, police said.

The women struck on the 100 block of H Street NW about noon, according to authorities. The pair was arguing with the man before the attack. The altercation started with everyone involved in separate vehicles, with the two women riding together, police said.

As the fight progressed, the women got out of their car. One of the women then hit the man with a bat. The other woman punched him.

The victim declined to be hospitalized, a D.C. Fire Department spokesman said.

Demetrius and Kena Lee were arrested in connection with the attack.

Kena, 31, was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon, police said. Demetrius, 51, was arrested for simple assault.

Information on their lawyers wasn’t immediately available.
