Capitol Hill Metro Riders Should Expect Weekend Delays, Crowds

Silver/Orange/Blue Line Metro stationBetween the planned federal holiday, Metro repairs and this weekend’s Washington Nationals home stand on Saturday and Sunday, every single Metro line servicing the Capitol Hill area will be affected by the weekend schedule.

Saturday and Sunday

The Orange / Silver / Blue Line trains will run every 24 minutes. The National Memorial Day Concert, which should draw a large crowd near the Smithsonian and Capitol Hill Metro Stations, will begin at 8 p.m. on Sunday night.

Red Line trains will operate every 20 minutes in the early mornings and late at night, with additional trains running between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

The one line with no scheduled delays at all will be the Green Line, which will be servicing Nationals games scheduled for 4:05 P.M. on Saturday and 1:35 P.M. on Sunday.

Memorial Day

On Monday, Orange and Silver Line trains will operate every 15 minutes, while Blue Line trains will operate every 18 minutes. Otherwise, trains will operate on a normal Sunday schedule.
