Sweet Potato Surprise — One of Ice Cream Jubilee’s unique takes on frozen dairy made it into USA Today’s list of unusual summer flavors. The sweet potato and marshmallow concoction is one of many options inside the shop, which is located in the Capital Riverfront District in Yards Park. [USA Today]

Watch Out — Taxis may soon warn their riders to try to avoid “dooring” bicyclists riding by when they exit the cab. There are efforts currently underway to use stickers and other reminders to keep cab passengers aware of blocking a bike lane. [DCist]

Power Problems — “Electricity customers in the District would fare better without a proposed merger between utility companies Pepco and Exelon than they would with it, according to the D.C. Office of the Attorney General.” [Washington Times]
