Masked Thief Robs Man at Gunpoint Near Maryland Avenue NE

(Updated at 3:35 p.m.) A masked thief with a gun robbed a man with the help of an accomplice near 10th Street and Maryland Avenue NE yesterday.

The robbers struck on the 1000 block of E Street NE about 12:15 a.m. Sunday, police said.

The victim was walking home when the thieves flagged him down, flashed a gun and stole his cellphone, according to authorities.

Both of the thieves were men between the ages of 20 and 25 years old, police said. The man with the gun had a white tank top, jeans and a ski mask.

Authorities didn’t have further information on the other suspect.
