The shooting happened on the 1600 block of E Street NE about 5:15 p.m., police said.
Darrell Grays, 33, of Northeast D.C. is the man who died, police said.
Authorities found Grays suffering from a gunshot wound and rushed him to a hospital, where he died from his injury. The Metropolitan Police Department’s homicide division is investigating his death.
Police tweeted that they’re looking for a man and a gray Ford Expedition sport utility vehicle with a Maryland license plate in connection with the shooting.
MPD currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
