Man Wanted for Armed Robbery at H Street NE Rita’s Caught on Video
An man accused of an armed robbery at an Italian ice and frozen custard shop on the H Street corridor last month has appeared on video.
A thief with a gun hit the Rita’s at 1014 H St. NE on June 18, police said.
Video authorities distributed today shows a hooded man walking through the front door of the Rita’s and to an area behind the store’s counter.
Once behind the counter, a Rita’s employee appears and hands him money from the cash register. He then runs out of the shop.
Police described the person of interest in the robbery as a 6-foot-1 man wearing black clothing, including a black hooded shirt.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent offense, including armed robbery, committed in the District of Columbia.
