Councilman Allen to Chat With Locals Over Coffee in Southwest

Capitol Hill-area residents have a chance to chat with one of their elected officials over breakfast again — this time in Southwest.

Councilman Charles Allen of Ward 6 and his constituent services staff will host July’s community office hours Friday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Starbucks inside the Safeway at 1100 4th St. SW.

The monthly meetings rotate around Ward 6 between the Starbucks, Compass Coffee in Shaw and Curbside Cafe in Hill East. Allen’s office also hosts quarterly evening office hours near H Street NE.

Allen has said community office hours are a way for residents to voice issues, complaints and concerns to him and his staff in a “low-key, informal setting.”

Residents can RSVP online, but reservations are not required to attend.
