Men Wanted in Armed Robbery Near Garfield Park Appear on Video
Three men suspected of having roles in an armed robbery near Garfield Park this week have been caught on video.
A robbery happened in an alley on the 200 block of E Street SE about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, police said.
A man was walking in the area when two people approached him, according to authorities. One of the individuals then flashed a handgun before robbing the man.
The victim followed the pair through Garfield Park, where someone struck him in the head, police said.
Video police distributed yesterday in connection with the robbery appears to show a man chasing two men with dark shirts and jeans through a series of sidewalks and staircases near a school bus parking lot. Capitol Hill Day School is located at 210 South Carolina Ave. SE, a block from E Street SE.
At one point in the video, the man who seemed to be pursuing the two individuals in dark clothing appeared to throw something at them, but missed. As the trio ran around, a man in a red-hooded sweatshirt followed the group.
