The center’s first mobile workshop is slated for 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at its 1333 H St. NE headquarters. The organization also is scheduled to hold additional workshops on Aug. 15, as well as Sept. 7 and 12.

The installation will be a “powerful, visual symbol for community, balance, and connection in our H Street neighborhood and beyond” when it goes on display during the H Street Festival on Sept. 19, according to the center.

“We look at these mobiles as a great metaphor of many different parts coming together to create a new whole,” Douglas Yeuell, the organization’s executive director, said in May.

Interested participants can register online.
