Car Overturns in Near Northeast After Collision With MetroAccess Van, Truck
A car flipped over in Near Northeast this morning after it collided with a MetroAccess van and hit a parked pickup truck.
The crash happened at 2nd and K streets NE about 9:30 a.m., police said. The collision temporarily closed K Street between 2nd and 3rd streets.
A man was driving a Toyota Camry in the area when he hit the MetroAccess van and then a Ram pickup truck, before overturning, according to police.
Only the driver of the Camry was hospitalized. He had serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the D.C. Fire and EMS Department.
The MetroAccess van, which received a few scratches in the crash, had at least two people in it at the time of the collision. The truck, which sustained a large, driver’s side dent after the crash, was unoccupied.
By 11 a.m., K Street was open to traffic again.
