Police Investigating Possible Robbery Spree Near H Street Corridor

Two armed robberies that happened near H Street NE early this morning appear to have links to other recent robberies, police said.

The robberies today occurred on the 1200 block of G Street NE about 2:45 a.m. and on the 800 block of 11th Street NE less than 10 minutes later. The incidents are similar to two robberies that happened last week in the area, according to authorities.

On G Street, a man with a gun and another individual approached a man when he was entering his home, police said. The armed man, who was wearing a tan safari hat, then ordered the victim to give him his cellphone.

The victim complied, and the suspects ran away.

On 11th Street, a man with a gun and another individual went up to a man when he was walking in the area, according to authorities. The armed man told the victim to get on the ground and then took his cellphone.

After the robbery, the suspects got into a car and drove away.
