A man sought by police in a Hill East theft has been caught on video sprinting from a video game store with a large box.

The theft happened at a shop on the 1300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE about 12:15 p.m. on July 20, police said. Authorities didn’t identify the business. But a video police released today in connection with the theft shows a man with a beard inside the GameStop at 1391 Pennsylvania Ave. SE.

The man first appeared on the video as he walked around the store. Eventually, he made his way to a cashier who put a large box on the shop’s counter.

He then pointed to something behind the worker, grabbed the box and ran away.

Police today distributed a video of a person of interest in a snatch robbery in Hill East, too. The robbery happened on the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE about 9:15 p.m. on July 21, police said.

Authorities yesterday also released a video of three young men wanted in a simple assault in Hill East. The attack occurred on the 1700 block of Massachusetts Avenue SE about 7:15 p.m. on June 23, police said.
