Man Stabbed on H Street NE

800 block of H Street NE (Photo via Google Maps)(Updated at 4:50 p.m.) A man was stabbed on the H Street corridor this afternoon, police said.

The attack happened on the 800 block of H Street NE about 3:45 p.m. The block includes a Rite Aid pharmacy, PNC bank and 7-Eleven.

The victim was brought to a local hospital with critical injuries, a D.C. Fire and EMS Department spokesman said.

Police are looking for a short man with a goatee, reddish shirt, black shorts and a tan hat in connection with the stabbing.

      No worries. If you see a guy in a red shirt, black shirt, and tan hat in the next few days or few weeks, just call the police, bc you found the guy.

      Unfortunately, police haven’t released weight. As for height, they only said he is short. Without more detailed information on a person’s physical characteristics, we generally do not report the person’s race. We try to avoid stereotypes, and when police give limited information, it can lead to stereotypes. As Ryan says below, it is correct that police said the man is Hispanic. But without more detailed information about the man’s weight, height and other physical characteristics, we have decided not to include what police said about the man’s race in the story at this time.

    The police report on twitter says short hispanic male. That’s just useful information, like “late model chevy malibu” instead of “car”
