Yards Park to Host Free Movie Screenings This Weekend

(Updated at 4:10 p.m.) Locals are slated to have three more opportunities to catch a movie outdoors in Navy Yard this year.

The neighborhood’s Yards Park will host free movie screenings on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Friday is set to bring “Guardians of the Galaxy” to the park as part of the Capitol Riverfront Outdoor Movie Series. The movie is set for 7 p.m.

Saturday will feature “Breaking Away” at sundown. The “Bike-in Movie” is part of Capital Bikeshare’s fifth anniversary celebration. Bicycle corrals are set to begin at 6:30 p.m., with entry to the screening scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

On Sunday, “Romeo + Juliet” also is expected show as part of the Capitol Riverfront Outdoor Movie Series. The movie is scheduled for 7 p.m.
