Boy Arrested After Violent Group Robberies in NoMa Area
Police have apprehended a boy who is suspected of participating in violent group robberies in and near NoMa earlier this week.
The robberies happened on the 200 block of Florida Avenue NE near the NoMa-Gallaudet University Metro Station and on the 200 block of K Street NW near I-395 Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities. The boy, who is from Northeast D.C., also was wanted in connection with another violent robbery in Shaw on the 400 block of N Street NW Wednesday afternoon.
In each of the robberies, a group of people assaulted and robbed victims.
The boy was arrested shortly after the Shaw robbery, which involved 12 to 14 juveniles. During that robbery, a boy punched a cyclist in the face and knocked him off his bicycle, Borderstan reported.
Authorities still are looking for more suspects.
