Navy Yard has a new place for kabob, chicken tikka and other Indian and Pakistani food.

Ziaafat Grill & Restaurant opened Friday in the former Levi’s Port Cafe space at 1102 8th St. SE. The eatery is on the same block as The Bachelor’s Mill and the “Blue Castle” building.

In addition to kabob and chicken tikka, the restaurant has meat stews, known as haleem and nihari, that take hours to make, Ziaafat manager Agha Ali said yesterday. Most of the dishes are less than $13 and include naan and other side items.

“They don’t have this kind of food anywhere around here,” Ali said.

The restaurant is open every day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
