Crime tape (Photo via Flickr/nullvalue)(Updated at 12:30 p.m.) Thieves with guns have struck in at least three separate robberies within two blocks of the H Street corridor since Friday.

Armed robberies occurred on the 300 block of F Street NE about 6:45 p.m. Friday, near H and 3rd streets NE about 9:30 p.m. Sunday, and the 900 block of 9th Street NE about 12:30 a.m. today, police said.

In the F Street robbery, a woman was walking in the area when a person jumped out of a red car and flashed a handgun at her, according to authorities. The individual then took the woman’s purse, got back in the car and drove away.

Police haven’t released any suspect information.

On Sunday night, a woman was walking about a block from the Giant grocery store on the H Street corridor when five to six people approached her, according to authorities. A member of the group, who was wearing a mask, then showed a handgun, robbed her and ran away.

A few hours later, two men, one of whom had a handgun, also robbed someone less than two blocks from the H Street Connection strip mall and fled, police said.

Robbers with guns struck in other locations around the Capitol Hill area over the weekend, too.

Two people were walking on the 600 block of L Street NE about 2 a.m. Saturday when a man robbed them at gunpoint and ran away, police said. The area is about a block from J.O. Wilson Elementary School.

An armed man also robbed someone on the 300 block of 18th Place NE about 7 a.m. Saturday and fled, according to authorities. The area is about a block from Eliot-Hine Middle School.
