The attack happened on the 100 block of 16th Street SE about 6:30 p.m. The area is about three blocks west of the Stadium-Armory Metro station and less than three blocks southwest of Eastern High School.

The man was in the vicinity when the teen charged at him without provocation, according to authorities. The victim then fell backwards over a short retaining wall as the boy approached.

After the fall, the boy used an unidentified sharp object to stab the man once in the buttocks, police said. The boy then ran away.

The victim was hospitalized with a minor puncture wound, according to authorities.

Police described the suspect as:

a young black male subject described as 17-18 years of age, 5’8″-5’9″ in height, wearing all black with a black hoodie up, thin build, clean shaven, dark brown complexion armed with a sharp object.

A group of teens attacked and robbed a man last night about two blocks from the stabbing, too, according to authorities.

The robbery occurred on the 100 block of 14th Street SE about 10 p.m.

The man was walking in the area when four teenage boys jumped on his back and started to assault him, police said. During the attack, the victim dropped his cellphone, which the teens took before fleeing.

The man wasn’t injured, according to authorities.

Police also arrested two suspects in an armed robbery near the H Street corridor last night, according to authorities.

The identities of the individuals weren’t immediately available. But they are suspected of robbing a man of his cellphone on the 1300 block of Florida Avenue NE about 9 p.m.

The man was tying his shoe in the area when two people approached, flashing a knife and a gun, police said. They then demanded the victim’s bicycle.

A scuffle followed between the man and the robbers and one of the thieves grabbed the victim’s cellphone. The robbers then fled.

Police apprehended two individuals as they canvassed the area after the robbery, according to authorities.
