Capitol Hill

Hill Now is celebrating its first birthday today.

We launched this site on Oct. 20, 2014 as a place for residents of Capitol Hill, the H Street corridor, NoMa, Navy Yard and Southwest to find out everything that is happening in their neighborhood.

In our first day, we wrote about a new Yoga studio in NoMa and a job fair in Southwest for ex-offenders. Since then, we’ve been busy reporting on business opening and closings, crime, events and everything else that our neighbors should know.

Thank You to our readers who have been with us since the beginning and to readers who only recently discovered us. If you are throwing an event in our area, be sure to let us know by filling out our event submission form.

We also welcome opinion pieces from our readers. If you have something you want to share with the Capitol Hill community, email us at [email protected].

Or, if you just want to share your adorable pets with us, consider submitting your four-legged (or finned) friends for our Pet of the Week. Just email [email protected] with a 2-3 paragraph bio and at least three horizontal photos of your pet. Each week’s winner receives a gift bag of dog or cat treats from Metro Mutts, along with 100 Metro Mutts Reward Points.
