Crime Roundup: Two Armed Robberies on Capitol Hill Last Night
Two Capitol Hill residents were robbed at gunpoint in unrelated incidents last night.
The first robbery happened around 10:30 p.m. in northeast Capitol Hill on the 1600 block of Kramer Street NE, according to police. A person walking home was accosted by a man who flashed a small handgun before stealing a bag of clothing from the victim, a police official said in an email. The suspect then fled in a white sedan.

Later last night, a man was robbed at gunpoint on Barracks Row. The man was approached by two men around 1:10 a.m. in an alley on the 500 block of 8th Street SE, according to police. One of the men was armed with a handgun and took the victim’s cell phone. The second suspect stole the man’s backpack.
There were no injuries reported in either robbery.
