Crime Update: Police Make Several Arrests in Area Robberies

Police made multiple arrests this week in connection with four robberies in the Capitol Hill area, according to an announcement by police today. Shortly before the police announcement, another armed robbery was reported in Southwest.

Most of the arrests were of people under the age of 18 according to the announcement.

A boy was arrested for assault with intent to rob after assaulting a person on the 600 block of I Street SE on Monday. The assault occurred just before 8 p.m., according to police.

One man and two boys were arrested for an armed robbery on Sunday on the 60 block of Acker Place NE. The three alleged thieves robbed a person at gunpoint just before 7 a.m. Sunday.

One boy was arrested for an armed robbery on Friday. That incident occurred on the 900 block of New Jersey Avenue SE about 9:15 p.m.

Another boy was arrested for a snatch robbery on the unit block of H Street NW on Friday, Oct. 16 about 2:30 a.m.

About an hour before the police announced these arrests, another armed robbery was reported in Southwest shortly after noon today.

The robbery occurred on the 1100 block of 3rd Street SE. Police are looking for 2 men in a blue BMW. A police spokesperson did not have any additional information on this robbery.
