The Canal Park Ice Rink in Navy Yard is set to open for the winter tomorrow after a week-long delay due to unusually warm temperatures.

The rink, which is located at Canal Park at 200 M Street SE was originally slated to open on Nov. 7, but the opening had to be pushed back after temperatures reached 80 degrees Nov. 6.

The rink will open at noon tomorrow, according to a tweet from the operators. Until March, the rink will be open from noon to 7 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays, from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays.

A grand opening celebration is planned for next weekend on Saturday Nov. 21. This Saturday, skaters are encouraged to dress as their favorite prince or princess between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Those in costume will have a chance to win four tickets to Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, the musical currently showing at The National Theatre downtown.
