Crime Roundup: Man Stabbed in Southwest
A man was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after being stabbed in the chest in Southwest last night.
The man entered the First District police station at 101 M St. SW about 10 p.m. saying he was stabbed in the chest, according to an email from police Lieutenant Brian Murphy.
The man reported that he was approached by three men wearing face masks on the 300 block of M Street SW. The victim said that one of the men stabbed him without any provocation.
There was also an attempted robbery on Capitol Hill last night. A man was in an alley of the 500 block of 8th Street SE about 9:45 p.m. when he was approached by two men in ski masks. One of the men flashed a grey handgun and demanded money. When the victim refused, the suspects fled down the 700 block of E Street SE.
Earlier in the evening, there was a robbery on the 1000 block of 5th Street SE. A woman reported that two people approached her from behind about 4:50 p.m. and attempted to grab her cell phone. The woman fell to the ground after a struggle and the thieves fled with her phone, according to an email from police Lieutenant Joseph Cullen.
