Person of Interest in Capitol Hill Robbery Caught on Video

Police are seeking help identifying a man they believe is connected to a Dec. 1 robbery on Capitol Hill.

The robbery occurred at 10:35 p.m. Dec. 1 on the 900 block of East Capitol Street NE, according to police.

A woman reported that she was talking on her cell phone when she was approached from behind by the suspect. The suspect punched the woman in the face and stole her purse and cell phone, according to an email from Metropolitan Police First District Captain Antonio Charland.

Surveillance footage released by police this morning shows a man police believe is connected to the robbery in a convenience store shortly after the crime was committed.
