Dangerously Delicious Pies on the H Street corridor closed today to begin renovations that are set to almost double the amount of seating at the eatery and allow for an expanded menu.

The renovations are expected to take between five and eight weeks, according to Claire Gladbach, the manager at the H Street location.

“It’s going to be a whole new shop once we reopen,” she said. “We’ll be adding more things to our menu and we’ll have probably double the amount of seating.”

Residents can still get their Dangerously Delicious Pie fix at the eatery’s Chinatown location at 671 I St. NW or from the restaurant’s pie truck. Dangerously Delicious Pies will also continue to offer catering.

WOW-with double the seating the place will look even emptier when no one is in there. I like the place and the diner feel it has. But the pie quality has been slipping as of late. $8 a slice, I want a fresh piece, ideally not heated up in a microwave. Also, step your coffee game up. No one in DC wants Illy. Get something local for Christ’s Sake.
