Crime Roundup: Man Robbed at Gunpoint After Leaving Hill East ATM

MPD Police CarsA man was robbed at gunpoint last night after taking cash out of an ATM in Hill East.

The man was walking to his car from an ATM on the 1300 block of Potomac Avenue SE about 12:30 a.m. when the robbery occurred, according to police. The thief displayed a silver handgun and took the victim’s cash before fleeing on foot.

The suspect was described as a black male about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a slim build wearing a partial ski mask and all dark clothing.

There was also another robbery earlier in the evening in Southwest. A woman reported that she was attacked while walking on the 1300 block of 4th Street SW about 6 p.m. The woman reported that a man walking behind her suddenly grabbed her by the neck and pushed her to the ground.

The man began forcefully searching through her pockets and stole money before fleeing on 4th Street SW toward M Street SW. The thief was described as a Hispanic or black man about 25-years-old with a dark hat and dark jacket. The suspect was also clean shaven.
