Pet of the Week: Jenny

Jenny is the Hill Pet of the Week! She’s a 2 or 3-year-old Hound mix who can be adopted. Here’s her bio shared by Rural Dog Rescue at 733 8th St. SE:

Jenny is a beautiful little 2-3-year-old hound mix who came into the shelter as a stray. Jenny is on the shy side but her fosters are working with her every day to help her come out of her shell.

She has a very funny personality and when she is comfortable, will show her fun and spunky side, which is a total crack up. Jenny is extremely well behaved in the home and has very good manners. She has learned boundaries very quickly; does not beg for food and does not come into the kitchen when food is being prepared.

She responds well to her name and comes when called. She walks well on a leash, especially if on a harness. Jenny loves her crate and goes in often on her own to relax or sleep. She never cries or complains about being in the crate and runs in right away when it’s time to eat.

Jenny will need someone that can be patient with her while she learns to trust humans. She may benefit from going to a home with other dogs to help boost her confidence. She has gotten along great with the dogs in her foster home and is picking up the routine quickly by following their lead. Jenny can’t wait to find her forever family in the D.C. area!
