Weekend Crime: Hill East Eatery Robbed at Gunpoint Friday Night

Police car lightA pizza restaurant in Hill East was robbed at gunpoint by two men on Friday night.

The NY Pizza at 1401 Pennsylvania Ave. SE was held up by two men wearing ski masks about 10 p.m. Friday, according to an email from Metropolitan Police Department First District Captain Antonio Charland.

The men entered the eatery displaying handguns and stole cash from the register. There were no injuries reported in the robbery. The suspects were described as two black men between 5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet tall.

On Saturday evening, a person was robbed along the H Street corridor. The robbery occurred on the 600 block of H Street NE, according to a police alert.

The suspect was described as a black man about 5 feet 5 inches tall wearing a sweater with patches on it.

Another attempted robbery was reported in Navy Yard Sunday night. The attempt occurred on the 700 block of L Street SE about 8:55 p.m. according to a police alert. The suspect was described as a black men between 45 and 50 years old wearing all black clothing.
