Pet of the Week: Hazel

Hazel is the Hill Pet of the Week. She’s a 3-year-old pit bull who loves meeting new people. Here’s her bio shared by her owner, Annie Hammel:

Hazel is a 3-year-old pit bull who is changing the public perception of the breed with every person she meets. The loving and gentle pup greets everyone she passes with a frenetically wagging tail and a huge grin.

Hazel’s mom rescued her in spring 2015 with the help of Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation in Virginia. It became clear on the first day that not only had Hazel never been in a city with big buildings, she had never seen stairs! Now, she races her mom up their three flights of stairs every day. She always wins.

Hazel’s favorite things are snuggles on the couch, dogs who want to play, her dog walker, Christel, the folks at Atlas Vet, her stuffed elephant, and anyone who pets her (She really is a lover).  Her favorite place to hang out is Mr. Henry’s patio, where they spoil her with hugs, ice cubes, and bacon.
