A new drop-in youth center opened in Barracks Row this morning.
Sasha Bruce Youthwork, which has served the District since 1974, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open its new facility at 741 8th Street SE earlier today.
Homeless kids and teens in need can visit the center Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. for meals and snacks alongside access to basic facilities like showers, phones, computers and laundry.
The center will also offer mental and sexual health services, counseling and life skills classes.
