Teens With Knife Rob Man in Southwest in Broad Daylight

400 block of I Street SW (Photo via Google Maps)Two teenage boys with a knife robbed a man in Southwest this morning, police said.

The armed robbery happened on the 400 block of I Street SW about 8:30 a.m. The block includes Amidon-Bowen Elementary School and the Southwest Duck Pond.

The victim was walking in the area when the teens approached him, according to authorities. One of the boys then flashed a knife and grabbed the victim’s cellphone.

The teenagers fled soon after.

Police are looking for:

  • A black male, 17 years old, medium complexion, 5’6 to 5’7, skinny build, wearing all black clothing including a black hat.
  • A black male, 15 years old, medium complexion, 5’5, skinny build, fade style haircut, wearing a gray sweater.

Anyone with information concerning this offense is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for crimes committed within the District of Columbia.
